Job Description:

WEG Commercial Motors is part of WEG SA, a leader in the worldwide production of electric motors. WEG supplies product into a large variety of commercial applications. We are seeking a Gear Design Engineer for our Bluffton, Indiana manufacturing facility. This role will manage projects that improve productivity, quality, cost and new gear systems. As part of the WEG team, you will interface with all levels and functions in our facility. You will be expected to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a timely fashion.

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative individual to support WEG Commercial Motors as a leader in the power transmission industry by acting as a Mechanical Engineer for our geared products who designs, develops, and tests all aspects of gears, gear motors, mechanical components, equipment, and machinery to support our current gear and electric motor products

Responsible for acting in the quality control of products, performing technical leadership of higher complexity problem solving projects, developing inspection plans and corrective action plans related to internal and external failures. Helping on continuously decrease the main quality KPIs.

RESPONSABILITIES:

  • To be the guardian of the WBL’s quality system
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality KPI’s
  • Develop, implement and maintain our doc control system
  • Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality System
  • Undertake regular internal audits of the Quality System
  • Coordinate Management Reviews of the Quality System
  • Coordinate certification processes internally and externally
  • Control the expiration dates of our certifications
  • Work on samples and pilot batches reviewing quality and compliance items
  • Receive and follow up external product and quality audits (certification bodies and/or customers)
  • Ensure corrective actions are undertaken to address non-conformities found
  • Study and prepare internal training material for quality procedures and/or any regulatory standard releases

EXPECTED HOURS:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Traveling to customers/suppliers and manufacturing plant may be required.
